Well, as I mentioned in the previous posting, today I’m going to look toward the future.
The future?
Yes… the future.
All the way to the year 2009!
Sure, it is less than 24 hours away, but, still… future.
I don’t really do resolutions. They are too easily broken. In fact, it is almost a given that they will be broken at this point in our culture.
Instead, how about just a couple of things I’d like to work on in the next year?
First, this comic strip. I want to keep it up, improve in what ways I’m able, and be on time… once I regain the ability to produce it at all.
Next, I’d like to put in some more time with my Baritone Ukulele. Yes, I own one. I can chord around on it pretty well, but I’d like to be better.
And, you know, it would sure be nice to put in some real effort with Spanish. I know just enough to make out about every third word on the Spanish TV station… which is more frustrating than useful.
Finally, I’d like to push through and get my chalk art ministry up and running. That is no small thing, and the time and effort involved are intimidating. Maybe I’ll put that one up as a prayer request.
See, nothing earth-shattering. Everything well within my grasp, and no outlandish expectations. Except for the ministry thing, and, well, I kinda think ministry for the Lord should be beyond our grasp and outlandish… just so we know who is actually responsible for the spiritual successes in those situations.
So, to all of you who have been here through thick and thin, good times and bad, strips and not strips, I wish you all a very Happy New Year. May the blessings of the Lord flow freely throughout your lives in the coming year.
I’ll see you all in 2009!
